Lies: A Gone Novel           By: Michael Grant             Submitted by: Sarah N.
Plot: This novel is the third book in the "Gone" series and continues the story of characters including Sam, Astrid, Edilio, and Quinn. Very much so living up to its name, "Lies" is generally about how Perdido Beach continues to break down due to distrust among its people and divisions between the humans and the freaks. New powers come into play, new enemies are made, and with the help of healing, people return from the grave. Things are not looking well for the town, and the tale is continued in "Plague", the next of the "Gone" series.
Why Read? This book is definitely worth reading simply for the fact that the author does an excellent job of establishing characters and giving them both traits that are unique and easy to relate to. All in all, this whole series is about teens our age attempting to survive. Some thrive, while in the case of others, their effort is futile.
Comments: I recommend reading the series in order because it would be difficult to comprehend the storyline otherwise.

And the best part is, every time you die, you just wake up. Until now.
Why Read?  I read the Maze Runner series, which is by the same author, which led me to believe this series would be just as good. I was right. There is plenty of suspense, thought provoking ideas, and little romance.
Comments:  The characters are funny, yet brave. You will get attached to them right on introduction.

Rot and Ruin Series                    By: Jonathan Maberry             Submitted by: Elizabeth N.

The adults in the books ignore the dead and pretend they aren't even there and cower behind chain link fences. The new generation of children come with new ideas about how to fight off the zombie plague, but as the series go on, Benny and Nix find out that the dead aren't the worst things out there.

The UNSC (United Nations Space Command) are out numbered and have no chance against the Covenant onslaught, but Reach holds a closely guarded secret. It's the training ground for the very first super soldiers code named "Spartans." These warriors, specially bioengineered and augmented, are trained to kill and are highly lethal. They are the last defense against the Covenant' destruction.
Why Read?  This book was definitely worth reading. That says something. I'm a picky reader and I don't read too much but this book was worth it. Especially if you're a video game fan. The book is action packed and full of details.
Comments: This book IS about the video game series "Halo." It tells you the full story of what happens after the attack on the planet Harvest (Halo Wars) and the actual story of what happens on Reach (Halo: Reach).
