Why Read? This
book is worth reading because it is interesting and involves several unique characters. If you liked the first novel, this one is about the same difficulty level.

Queen of the Dead (Undertakers series)    by: Ty Drago   Submitted by: Jeremy W.
Plot: I think the plot is well thought-out and clever. The characters are more like corpses rather than zombies. They are smarter, quicker, and better than zombies, basically.
Why Read: Highly recommended storyline that most people would enjoy.  What's also great is that the book is worth 13 AR points!
Comments: First read Book #1: Rise of the Corpses from the series (Undertakers series).  It's great too!

Gone                  by: Michael Grant                          Submitted by: Sarah N.
Plot: It was an average school day in Perdido Beach: a small town, a few miles distance between any stores worth going to. Suddenly, every person over the age of fourteen "poofed". Gone. Instead of worrying about there algebra tests, teens now have to worry about whether they will wake up tomorrow. Sam, Quinn, Lana, Edilio, Astrid, and her autistic little brother Petey must not only try to survive in the new world... but save it.
Why Read? This book has several different interesting characters, each one unique and special in their own way. Each plot twist (there are a lot) brings out a new trait of a character that you just may not have seen before. Overall, it's a great story. I can tell it will be a great series!
Comments: This book is really great for any reader because it is easy to understand but also interesting enough to keep a more advanced reader reading. Gone is really, if you come down to it, a bunch of scared teens looking to survive in a new world. It's actually really relatable to us as middle schoolers (you know, minus the super powers and whatnot)

The Death Cure (Maze Runner Series)    By: James Dashner      Submitted by: Sarah N.
Plot: Teenagers fight for a cure to the flare, a contagious disease that slowly makes you go insane. They must go through many tests to fight for what is right and keep their friends safe, as well as make sacrifices and betrayals. In the end, though, it all comes down to exactly how much they are willing to sacrifice- are their lives really worth sacrificing to stop the Flare?
Why Read? This book is amazing. I read the other two books and am currently reading The Kill Order. Just to go into the future and have adventures with characters Thomas, Newt, and Minho is truly mind-blowing. If you like description, adventure, humor, and anticipation then this is the series for you. Long story short, this book is MORE than worth reading.
Comments: This book is the third of four books and is about three hundred pages or so. You will really become in love with so many of the characters, but may come to dislike some as well. The movie actually recently came out for The Maze Runner, but trust me: the books are always better. Anyway, if you enjoyed The Hunger Games, Delirium, Divergent, The Fault in Our Stars, and The Heroes of Olympus (and Percy Jackson, of course), then you will enjoy this book. There's a lot of suspense and not much romance, which is good, in my opinion. There is one thing I'm sure of after reading this book, though: this series is truly one of a kind!
