Al Capone Series Genifer Chlodenko Submitted by: Stephen T.
Plot: 12-year-old Moose Flanagan lives on an island, and not just any island: Alcatraz Island, home of the famous convict Al Capone. Along with the supposed connection between him and Capone, Moose must deal with Natalie, his sister that is different from others. Moose also must deal with island rich girl Piper, his friends, and the demands of Darby Trixle, the local police office.
Why Read? This book series is extremely well done. The accuracy to detail is impressive, the stories are enticing, and I never seemed to get bored with the zany adventures of Moose. I always was interested in what happened next!
Comments: This book series currently holds 3 titles: Al Capone Does My Shirts, Al Capone Shines My Shoes, and Al Capone Does My Homework.

Gone with the Wind By: Margaret Mitchell Submitted by: Mrs. Boerlin
Plot: Scarlet O'Hara, the heroine of the novel, takes the reader on an adventure through the deep South from before the Civil War until Reconstruction. It is her journey, full of beauty and sorrow , that takes the reader back into America's dense past.
Why Read? I've seen the movie, but reading the book has been a magical experience! I was able to see into Scarlet's mind for the first time. I was able to understand what drove her and propelled her toward her goal: life.
Comments: FANTASTIC!
